For EU & International Students

All full-time Ingénieur Polytechnicien international students are required to pay tuition fees for the entire duration of their studies. Students who repeat a full year of study will also be required to pay the applicable full-time tuition fees for the repeated year. 

Tuition fees for non-French students entering the Ingénieur Polytechnicien Program from 2019 onwards:

EU students : €19.000 for 3 years

Year 1 : €3 500
Year 2 : €7 750
Year 3 : €7 750

Non- Eu syudent €38 000 for 3 years

Year 1 : €7 000
Year 2 : €15 500
Year 3 : €15 500

For Year 4, students can choose to study for a 1- or 2-year Master’s degree in France or abroad, in which case, if there are tuition fees, they are to be paid directly to the host institution.

For French Nationals

French students at École Polytechnique serve under military status and receive a remuneration for the duration of their studies. There are no study costs for French students, on the condition that they work for the civil service for at least 10 years within the 20 years following their graduation. Otherwise, they must repay the tuition fees:

As of today, the total amount to be repaid is set at:

  • €21,000 for students who have chosen to join a government body for Year 4
  • €31,000 for students who have not chosen to join a government body for Year 4

This amount is reduced according to the amount of time spent in the civil service.

The result below has no contractual value and does not guarantee that the same level of reduction will be decided by the commission. The exact total amount of your tuition fees will be confirmed following your official request for exemption and after checking the supporting documents provided. A dedicated commission will review the justifying documents that you provided and will propose a reduction rate, subjected to the validation of the Ecole Polytechnique’s Board of Directors.

The needed data to complete it correctly are: the total gross income of your household for the year n-1 (for example, if admitted in 2020, please enter the gross income for year 2019 before taxes) and the number of family members who are fully dependant on the indicated income.
