Prof. Slava Mukhanov will review the progress achieved in theoretical and observational cosmology over the last 40 years and explain how the theoretical predictions for the Cosmic Microwave Background temperature fluctuations, made in 1980, were later on fully confirmed in precision measurements performed the last 30 years.
