IP Paris in the Top 75 of THE 2024 ranking of the world's best universities
The Institut Polytechnique de Paris, of which the École Polytechnique is a founding member alongside ENSTA Paris, ENSAE Paris, Télécom Paris and Télécom SudParis, is ranked 71st in THE 2024 ranking of the world's top universities, published on October 27.
IP Paris has moved up 24 places compared with the 2023 edition.
For its twentieth edition, the Times Higher Education ranking surveyed 1904 universities in 108 countries or regions? It evaluates higher education and research establishments on the basis of 17 criteria divided into five categories: teaching, research environment, quality of research, international outlook and connections to industry.
The École Polytechnique no longer appears in its own right in international rankings, as it now belongs to the Institut Polytechnique de Paris.
Université Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL) ranks first among France's top universities (40th), up 7 places on the previous ranking. Université Paris-Saclay, which entered the ranking last year, jumps 35 places to 58th. Sorbonne Université moved up 15 places to 75th.
As a result, France boasts now four universities in the top 75. On the basis of this Top 75, France comes in 5th position worldwide (up from 8th in 2023), after the United States, the United Kingdom, China and Australia.
