Design and modélisation of innovative materials
Polymers, mechanical behaviour, microstructure
Since its creation in 2018, the chair « Design and modeling of innovative materials » ambitions to invent tomorrow’s materials, with a strong focus on the optimisation of their mechanical behaviour. Held by Julie Diani of the Laboratoire de mécanique des solides (LMS) in collaboration with the Centre of applied mathematics (CMAP) and supported by Arkema, this Chair’s research is centered around the link between microstructure and polymer’s mechanical behaviour, and also on the optimisation of polymer structures’ behaviour for varied purposes such as adhesion, dynamic behaviour…

Procédés et matériaux innovants
Smart building, fluid-structure interaction, active surfaces, sustainable housing
Using fluid mechanics and interactions with solids, the Chair « Procédés et matériaux innovants » acts within the scope of its sponsor, Saint-Gobain. Since 2007 this Chair actually held by Camille Duprat is positioned between physics and mechanics by studying insulating materials, sensors and smart houses. Its projects deal with condensed materials, small-scale matter structure, interface hydrodynamics and surface functionalisation.
