Alliance - 20 years of transatlantic collaboration
The founding partner institutions of Alliance, including École Polytechnique, celebrated the 20th anniversary of their international collaboration on March 13, 2023, in Paris. On the occasion, a conference on climate change brought together internationally renowned researchers from the four partner universities who discussed the real impact and limitations of different economic tools aimed at direct decisions towards more sustainable solutions.

The French minister of Industry asks polytechnicians to tackle the zero carbon revolution
Roland Lescure (X87), the French Minister in charge of Industry, came to meet École Polytechnique’s students and start-ups of its ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation supported by its incubator, the Drahi X-Novation Center. He pleaded for École Polytechnique’graduates to fully support the new industrial zero carbon revolution.

Launch of the Alexander Friedmann Fund
Created to support various scientific activities associated to the field of cosmology, the Alexander Friedmann Fund was launched on December 05, 2022 by the first Colloquium Friedmann. Frank Eisenhauer from Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics (Germany) inaugurated these conferences by speaking about “The galactic center black hole, the effects of general relativity, and how to observe them”.

Christophe Josserand, CNRS researcher and professor at École Polytechnique, and Qiang Du, Fu Foundation Professor of Applied Mathematics at Columbia University, spent three months as visiting professors at the respective other institution in the United States and France. As they crossed paths at École Polytechnique this autumn, they agreed to tell us about their visiting professorships and experience at the partner institutions.

Reinforcing the preparatory classes in Ivory Coast
Committed to reinforcing the preparatory classes for the Grandes Écoles in Ivory Coast, École Polytechnique participated alongside the Institut National Polytechnique Felix Houphouët-Boigny and the Lycée Louis-Le-Grand in a dedicated project running over 48 months. The closing seminar held on October 20 and 21, 2022, in Yamoussoukro and Abidjan, highlighted the program's excellent achievements.

The 2022 Nobel prize in physics awarded to Alain Aspect, professor at École polytechnique
Alain Aspect, CNRS Research Director Emeritus at the Institut d'Optique Graduate School (Université Paris-Saclay - CNRS) and Professor at École Polytechnique, is co-recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physics 2022. This Nobel Prize rewards his discoveries and underlines the excellence of education in Physics at l'X.
