An avenue on École Polytechnique’s campus is now dedicated to Anne Duthilleul-Chopinet, the first female valedictorian to enter École Polytechnique, when the cycle ingénieur polytechnicien entrance examination was opened to women. The inauguration of this avenue, in her presence, was an opportunity to recall the contribution of women to major scientific advances and École polytechnique’s commitment to their promotion.

Alain Aspect, Professor at École Polytechnique and the Institut d'Optique Graduate School-Université Paris-Saclay, Emeritus Director of Research at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and 2022 winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics, gave a lecture on “Quantum entanglement and the non-locality revolution”. The start of the new academic year for the Cycle ingénénieur polytechnicien program class of 2023 (X23) is marked by the launch of the course “Engineering Sustainability, s'ingénier pour durer”, led by economist Céline Guivarch. École Polytechnique has appointed a prime contractor to renovate its central building. The project, which represents an investment of 130 million euros and covers 24,000 square meters of premises, will provide X with an innovative heart of campus, open to its environment and meeting the highest environmental standards to support its development.

Since October 2022, École Polytechnique has been working with École Penninghen to develop a demonstrator for the XSeaO2 program, financed by the Ifker fund, and aimed at recovering CO2 dissolved in seawater to produce synthetic fuel. The Nautilus project, designed by students at École Penninghen, was chosen as the basis for the sensor design.
On October 2nd and 3rd, the X-Forum, brought together nearly 2,000 students, including 1,000 polytechnicians, and over 150 international companies, Schools and universities on the campus.
