The Presidential Summit of the international alliance U7+, in which École Polytechnique is a founding member, took place at Bocconi University in Italy from April 11 to 12, 2024. Laura Chaubard, Director General and Acting President of École Polytechnique, attended the conference, which brought together the presidents and executives of over 80 universities worldwide to focus on this year’s theme "Inclusive Education for Inclusive Societies". The summit concluded with a formal statement on Global Access to Higher Education, also calling on the G7 to collaborate in four key areas.
École Polytechnique's Executive Education division is launching five new programs for executives and managers of private and public organizations, focusing on technological innovation, cybersecurity, cloud, data and artificial intelligence, and sustainable performance and governance.
École Polytechnique welcomed the delegates from its partners within the alliance RESCIF (Network of Excellence in Engineering Sciences of the French-speaking Community) on campus from October 12 to 14, 2023. The agenda of the meeting included the results of the entrepreneurship summer school, organized by the University Saint Joseph of Beirut in Lebanon in July 2023, as also the results of the call for projects to establish joint laboratories within the RESCIF network.
École Polytechnique’s presidency of the alliance spurs a unanimous commitment to accelerate sustainable development. EuroTech Universities Alliance president since June 2022, Éric Labaye, the Chairman and President of École Polytechnique and of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, welcomed the presidents of the EuroTech partner institutions at École Polytechnique for their annual meeting on June 7th, 2023.
Thirteen of the Eiffel excellence scholarships 2023 are granted to international students of École Polytechnique. Five additional students are on the complementary list for this prestigious scholarship awarded by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and may add to the excellent result. Beyond the excellence of the students, the distinction also illustrates the global renown of the School, attracting the best international students to its degree programs.
Building on the success of the Blockchain Starter Program, launched in 2022, to understand the strategic, economic and legal issues of this technology, École Polytechnique Executive Education, completes its offer on Blockchain and launches the "Blockchain Advanced Program Decentralized Finance (DeFi)" certification program.
Sixteen École Polytechnique’s alumni and students appear in the 2023 edition of the French think tank Institut Choiseul ranking of business leaders under 40. Seven of them are in the Top 100.
Christophe Josserand, CNRS researcher and professor at École Polytechnique, and Qiang Du, Fu Foundation Professor of Applied Mathematics at Columbia University, spent three months as visiting professors at the respective other institution in the United States and France. As they crossed paths at École Polytechnique this autumn, they agreed to tell us about their visiting professorships and experience at the partner institutions.
The researchers receive the François Frenkiel Award from the American Physical Society for their work at the Hydrodynamics Laboratory on the modelling of active drops moving in a fluid.
