RESCIF, the Network of Excellence in Engineering Sciences of the French-speaking Community, meets at l’X
École Polytechnique welcomed the delegates from its partners within the alliance RESCIF (Network of Excellence in Engineering Sciences of the French-speaking Community) on campus from October 12 to 14, 2023. The agenda of the meeting included the results of the entrepreneurship summer school, organized by the University Saint Joseph of Beirut in Lebanon in July 2023, as also the results of the call for projects to establish joint laboratories within the RESCIF network.

Created by three alumni of École Polytechnique, the event dedicated to space and its exploration takes place from November 17th to 19th on the School’s campus. An architectural project to give shape to the XSeaO2 program financed by the Ifker fund
Since October 2022, École Polytechnique has been working with École Penninghen to develop a demonstrator for the XSeaO2 program, financed by the Ifker fund, and aimed at recovering CO2 dissolved in seawater to produce synthetic fuel. The Nautilus project, designed by students at École Penninghen, was chosen as the basis for the sensor design.

Sabrina Speich (LMD) collaborates on the WHIRLS project, funded by an ERC Synergy grant
The WHIRLS project, which studies the role of ocean eddies on climate, is one of 37 Synergy grant projects announced on October 26 by the European Research Council (ERC). Sabrina Speich from École Normale Supérieure de Paris and researcher at the Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique (LMD) is leading this project with three other researchers.

First Employment Survey X2016: A pay premium of almost 45% for new hires
Ranked at the top of French engineering Schools of excellence, Ecole Polytechnique provides its engineering new graduates with an average first employment gross salary that is almost 45% higher than that of other engineering French Schools. Almost a third the Cycle Ingénieur Polytechnicien Program graduates go into research, making a major contribution to France's scientific and technological influence.

IP Paris in the Top 75 of THE 2024 ranking of the world's best universities
The Institut Polytechnique de Paris, of which the École Polytechnique is a founding member, has moved up 24 places in THE 2024 ranking of the world's top universities. Three other French higher education and research establishments are in the Top 75 of this ranking.

Two X alumni take the spotlight at the 2023 Ivy Award for best young tech executive
Nicolas Cruaud (X2016), co-founder of Néolithe, won the Ivy 2023 prize, and David Henri (X2013), co-founder of Extrotrail, was one of the finalists. Two distinctions that underline Ecole Polytechnique's dynamism in entrepreneurship and innovation.
